Helpful Tips for your Family Shoot
Before Your Shoot
Fill in your questionnaire
This will help me with getting to know your family, especially your childrens likes and dislikes so that I can individualise your photoshoot to include all of your needs.
What to wear
Prepare what you would like to wear for your shoot. Use our guide below for inspiration or to borrow items from our client wardrobe. We know not everyone buys neutral tones so we have put something together to save you money and the planet!
Prepare your family
Talk to your family especailly smaller children about what you will be doing. You might like to include things like;
- What they might see on the shoot - Sand, water, trees etc
- Inform them that your photographers name is Chris. You are welcome to show them a photo so that I am a familiar face to them when we first meet.
- Choose an activity to talk about that they can look forward to. 'We're going to find .... (sticks, shells, have cuddles and photos) today!'
On The Day
Prepare your family
Remind your family about your upcoming photo shoot.

Have warm clothes ready for backup
You might also like to include a towel if your shoot is at the beach. I welcome exploration and fun during the shoot!
Make sure the kids aren't hungry
An extra snack, bottle or breastfeed prior to arriving to your photoshoot to help with the process.
Rescheduling
If it is raining we will reschedule but I like to wait until an hour before as it is often after a rain shower that the sky produces the most magical sunsets. There's nothing worse than regretting cancelling.
Dont Stress!
Kids will feed off your worry or if you are stressed or concerned about your childs behaviour. Let me do my thing. I believe in child lead photography and will capture the moments and shots that you want in due time. I love children, I am an educator and have two children of my own.

I will give a sneak peek on socials (inform me if you are not ok with this. I respect your wishes)
Your Gallery
Your online gallery will take 3-4 weeks to be completed. You will receive an email with the link and a password to ensure it is private for you. You are welcome to share this link with family or friends or keep it to yourselves, it is up to your discretion.
Printing
You are encouraged to use the printing services on our online shop as this will ensure a quality product. For photo books or wall galleries, we would love to assist you.
